Style Sheets
Graphics Studio I – Project: InDesign Styles & Master Pages
Two or three class periods
Objectives
Assignment:
All files are in the S: Drive > KelseyR > Graphics Studio 1 > Alice
Design the book “Alice in Wonderland” by Lewis Carroll. A Word file “Alice Chapters 1-3.doc” with the text of the chapters is provided. Illustrations are placed in the text, but the students can place them as seems best to them.
The illustrations and an html file containing the entire e-book with illustrations are in the “Alice” project folder. This is a public domain file of the book and images from Gutenberg.org. Students may refer to the html e-book for reference in their browsers.
Use the images without “th” on the end. Those are thumbnails for the html book. By clicking on them, they get the other image in a new window. These are higher quality.
Pages are to be set up as letter sized, have automatic page numbers, and a title at the top of each page except for Chapter title pages. I’m willing to accept alternate book sizes, encouraging creativity.
Have them design a cover, using the “cover “ image. The student may use their own choice of images if desired. The provided images are only suggested for use.
Font choices are up to them. All italicized words in the original text (see html file, they’re not set up that way on the Word file) should be done in their layouts.
